AEMC's official company history dates the U.S. operation to 1976, when it began in downtown Boston. The same account places the business within the longer Chauvin Arnoux measurement lineage, which began in France in 1893. AEMC's 2024 catalog records the later development of the American operation and says that AEMC Corporation and Instrumentation Corporation legally adopted the name Chauvin Arnoux, Inc., doing business as AEMC Instruments, in 1997.
The company describes its Dover, New Hampshire, site as its current corporate office and as a center for engineering, production, technical support, service, and NIST-traceable calibration.
