Audio Precision

History

Audio Precision's official site dates the company to 1984. An official remembrance identifies its founders as Richard Cabot, Bruce Hofer, Bob Metzler, and Robert Wright and notes Metzler's early role as president. The company established its specialization around dedicated audio-analysis hardware and software used to characterize frequency response, level, noise, distortion, channel relationships, digital interfaces, and other performance properties of audio components and complete products.

The current APx range extends that work through modular two-channel and multichannel analyzers, production-oriented instruments, digital interfaces, automation APIs, measurement software, and electroacoustic workflows for loudspeakers, microphones, headphones, and communications devices. Audio Precision's privacy statement identifies Audio Precision, Inc. as an Oregon corporation and says it is part of Axiometrix Solutions, alongside GRAS and imc Test & Measurement. A current official technical statement and company material give a Beaverton address, supporting the headquarters field without treating Axiometrix's wider organization as the same legal entity.
