DekTec Digital Video B.V. develops hardware and software for professional digital-video transport, broadcast interfacing, and test and measurement. Its manuals cover PCI and PCIe cards, USB devices, network appliances, modulators and receivers, transport-stream playout and analysis applications, drivers, and developer interfaces.
History
DekTec was founded in the Netherlands in 2000 by Sito Dekker and Maarten Ghijsen, engineers who had worked at Philips Digital Video Systems. Its first products, DVB-ASI and DVB-SPI adapters for the PCI bus, appeared in 2001 with StreamXpress playout software. The company expanded into PCI Express, USB, and network-connected devices for moving digital television signals into and out of computer systems.
In 2004 DekTec introduced its first FantASI USB device, StreamXpert transport-stream analyzer, and a PCI satellite test modulator. Its later products support ASI, SDI, IP, and RF interfaces and are used for broadcast development, playout, monitoring, standards validation, and OEM integration. DekTec identifies Hilversum as its headquarters and main Dutch development location, with wholly owned offices in North America and the United Kingdom.
