INFICON develops instruments, sensors, and software for vacuum measurement, leak detection, gas analysis, thin-film process control, and advanced manufacturing. Its manuals cover vacuum gauges and controllers, refrigerant and helium leak detectors, residual-gas analyzers, and related measurement systems. These products are used in semiconductor fabrication, vacuum coating, refrigeration, automotive production, research, and other process industries.
History
INFICON's measurement lineage reaches back to 1969, when work associated with General Electric and Syracuse University produced a solid-state halogen leak detector for production-line quality assurance. That date describes the origin of the instrument business and brand lineage, not the formation of today's Swiss holding company. Vacuum-measurement technology developed within Balzers later joined the same product lineage.
INFICON HOLDING AG was formed in June 2000 from instrumentation businesses that had been brought together during the preceding corporate reorganization. The present company develops vacuum gauges and controllers, leak detectors, gas-analysis instruments, thin-film process controls, and manufacturing software. Its archived manuals therefore span both the earlier operating lineage and products sold by the company formed in 2000.
