Leader

History

Leader's official history begins in 1954 with the establishment of Ohmatsu Denki Company Limited in Meguro, Tokyo, and development of the LSG-100 test oscillator. An LAG-55 audio oscillator followed in 1955. The company moved to its present Yokohama location in 1960, entered video-related measurement with a pattern generator in 1965, and changed its name to Leader Electronics Corporation in 1966. It established Leader Instruments Corporation in the United States in 1969, documenting an early international presence under the Leader name.

The company history identifies the 1981 LBO-5860 waveform monitor and LVS-5850 vectorscope as part of the foundation of its broadcast and video measurement business. Subsequent product generations moved through digital signal generation and modern waveform-monitoring systems.
