LeCroy is the catalog label for the oscilloscope and protocol-test business now known as Teledyne LeCroy. Founded in 1964, the lineage includes digital oscilloscopes, high-bandwidth acquisition systems, probes, protocol analyzers, and signal-integrity tools documented under LeCroy, LeCroy Corporation, and Teledyne LeCroy names.
History
Walter LeCroy founded LeCroy Research Systems in 1964 to develop electronic instrumentation for scientific applications. The company later became LeCroy Corporation and built a major oscilloscope business, adding protocol-analysis capabilities as electronic interfaces became more complex. Manuals for 9300C, LC, and later oscilloscope families reflect that independent-company period, while newer documents use the Teledyne LeCroy identity.
Teledyne Technologies acquired LeCroy Corporation in 2012 and renamed the operating business Teledyne LeCroy. It continues as an active wholly owned Teledyne division based in Chestnut Ridge, New York; Teledyne LeCroy is therefore the current identity, not merely an unrelated alias of a standalone LeCroy Corporation. The public page keeps the shorter canonical name only because “LeCroy” is the exact catalog label and URL already attached to the archived manuals.
