About QuadTech

Reviewed 2026-07-26

QuadTech was an electrical test-equipment company formed from GenRad's Precision Instrument Division. Its instruments covered LCR and impedance measurement, high- and low-resistance measurement, hipot and ground-bond testing, leakage-current analysis, and automated electrical and medical safety systems. The catalog includes both QuadTech-designed products and GenRad-origin Digibridge models carried under the QuadTech name.

History

IET Labs' official acquisition history says QuadTech acquired the classic product line from GenRad in 1991, linking the catalog identity to General Radio measurement technology. That lineage is directly visible in manuals such as the 1659 RLC Digibridge, while later QuadTech models include precision LCR meters and electrical-safety analyzers. Available owner documentation associates the name with hipot, ground-bond, dielectric-withstand, impedance, megohm, milliohm, and automated medical-device safety testing.

Product ownership later divided. IET Labs says it acquired most GenRad standards, impedance, megohmmeter, Digibridge, audio, and strobe lines in 2000, purchased the remaining classic Digibridge and megohmmeter line in 2005, and acquired the QuadTech 1900-series and 7600 Plus precision LCR products in 2012. Chroma's corporate milestones say Chroma Systems Solutions acquired QuadTech in 2012, and an archived QuadTech page previously described product-number transitions to Chroma. The legacy classification reflects this split succession; it should not imply that every QuadTech manual is presently supported by the same owner.
